RUNNING-IN Arrow
During the first 1,000 km (600 miles) do not exceed:
  • 20 kph (13 mph) in 1st gear
  • 45 kph (28 mph) in 2nd gear
  • 65 kph (40 mph) in 3rd gear
  • 90 kph (55 mph) in 4th gear
From 1,000 km (600 miles) to 3,000 km (1800 miles): Do not overaccelerate.
FIRST SERVICE Arrow
At 1,500 km (1,000 miles approximately)
  • By any Citroën Dealer
LEVELS Arrow
Before setting out on a long journey, check and top up if necessary:
  • The engine oil level
  • The level of the "LHM" brake fluid
Depending on the driving conditions, the engine oil consumption may go up to 0.5 litre per 1,000 km (600 miles) after running-in period i.e. 5,000 km (3,000 miles) at least.

The engine oil level should be checked periodically (see page 22)
DRAINING Arrow
See the "MAINTENANCE GUIDE" handed over to you together with this "OWNER'S HANDBOOK"
  • Engine sump, drain and refill.
  • Oil filter, renew the cartridge.
  • Air filter, clean the cartridge.
  • Gearbox, change the oil.
WARNING LAMPS Arrow
Pay attention to the "imperative stop" red warning lamps: brake fluid level and engine oil pressure. If they light up while driving, stop immediately.
SIGNALS AND LIGHTING Arrow
Always keep in your vehicle
  • A complete set of spare bulbs
  • A set of fuses (10 and 16 A)
TYRES Arrow
Check pressures regularly
Replacing a wheel:
  • Tools and spare wheel in boot.
  • Familiarize yourself from the outset with the handling operations specified on page 30
