| For Raid Australia 2016
our 2CV in Australia needed some work to be prepared for the next Raid.
Again we coincided our trip with the annual Cit In, the Easter Meeting
of all Australian Citroën Clubs. This year it was hosted by the
South Australian Club in the Barossa Valley, near Adelaide. Right after we arrived, our friends in Warragul, who store our 2CV, took us to an outing of the Gippsland Sporting & Classic Car Register, a fun event with many interesting cars. Once we had done all the needed repairs and maintenance work, we drove to our friend David in Melbourne to some alignment of the rear suspension arms. Our trip continued to the National Motor Museum in Birdwood. The Citroën Club had arranged a meeting of many of the Cit In participants on their way to Nooriutpa. So after the visit of the museum, we continued as a group to Nooriutpa, where we spent the Easter Weekend at the Cit In. There was quite a group to do the same trip. However, we had just a week whereas the group had planned a 2-week adventure. So we had to go ahead on our own. From the Raids 1988 and 2004 we knew the area around the Flinders Ranges, a breathtaking area. So we went back to visit Flinders Ranges, Wilpena Pound and Akaroola. For the way back to Melbourne, we chose the spectacular Great Ocean Road with the Twelve Apostles, one of Australia's prime tourist attractions. To avoid the bad traffic going through the middle of Melbourne, we took the scenic ferry across Port Phillip Bay. Click here for the slide show |
